The BIG Rescue travels to different locations in order to expose and educate children about the Coast Guard’s important responsibilities. The video follows a cutter voyage off San Diego, California, meets a USCG search and rescue dog, and observes USCG Rescue Swimmer Training. From there, it’s off to Elizabeth City, North Carolina for a helicopter rescue. The BIG Rescue ventures to St. Johns, Newfoundland, where a Coast Guard C-130 and the International Ice Patrol embark on a mission to plot the location of ice bergs in the North Atlantic. The video also includes dramatic footage of real U.S. Coast Guard rescues, including dramatic scenes from Hurricane Katrina rescues.
See actual footage of the men and women of the US Coast Guard as they perform rescues at sea, on land, and in the air!
